Dual Professional BANA Membership with TNTANA

If your primary practice is biofeedback but you also practice acupressure, alternative therapies, aromatherapy, homeopathy, hypnosis, massage therapy, naturopathy, reflexology or spiritual healing, you may qualify for dual professional membership with both BANA and The Natural Therapies Association of North America (TNTANA). Your BANA/TNTANA malpractice and general liability insurance benefit will cover you for any and all of these healing techniques and modalities. Professional Members may upgrade to Dual Member and cover all of these additional risks for a $50 fee.

Certification by an accredited or approved certification board or licensing agency is required to add acupressure, alternative therapies, aromatherapy, homeopathy, hypnosis, massage therapy, naturopathy or reflexology to your dual membership benefit package. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact BANA headquarters.

Alternative therapies includes the following therapies if you can prove adequate training in the specific technique: applied kinesiology, cold laser therapy, color therapy, cranial sacral therapy, crystal therapy, ear coning, kinesthetic therapy, light therapy, oil drop technique, pain management, passive sound therapy, spiritual healing and stress management. Kinesthetic therapy refers to touch therapy using a passive or active device. Passive sound therapy refers to tuning fork, Tibetan bowl and similar therapies not related to the Tomatis Method. Certification is required.

Spiritual healing is covered for all spiritual healers licensed by an FSHLB accredited or accepted spiritual healer license board. If you have any questions or concerns about your spiritual healer license, contact FSHLB directly or visit their website.

If your primary profession is massage therapy and you practice biofeedback, you may cover both professions by joining TNTANA as a Class 2 Professional Member. BANA membership does not include massage therapy. TNTANA Class 2 membership does.

If you practice colon hydrotherapy or nutrition, you must join TNTANA to cover your exposure to these therapies even if biofeedback is your primary profession. You have the option of not covering these exposures and joining BANA as a Professional Member. But before you make that decision, BANA suggests you check out TNTANA.

  1. Biofeedback is not included within the scope of practice for Colon hydrotherapists. Therefore certification in biofeedback and a certificate of adequate training in colon hydrotherapy is required to cover both risks. BANA membership does not include colon hydrotherapy. TNTANA Class 3 or 4 membership does.

  2. Biofeedback is not included within the scope of practice for professional nutritionists. Therefore certification in both biofeedback and nutrition is required to cover both risks. BANA membership does not include nutrition. TNTANA dual membership does.

If your primary practice is acupressure, alternative therapies, aromatherapy, homeopathy, hypnotism, massage therapy, naturopathy, reflexology or spiritual healing, you may cover these risks by joining TNTANA. Certification or licensure is a condition of benefit coverage. More information about adequate coverage for these professions is available from TNTANA.
